Pete East has cancelled the Operation Beach Repect Cleanup for Saturday, November 14. Due to flooding and the closure of Highway 12, this may be the first time in over 30 years of OBR that we have had to cancel. Pete wishes to thank all of the volunteers. Pete had everything covered from ramps to highway cleanup and even Ocracoke Island with 2 volunteers. NC 12 has really taken a beating during this near historic Nor'easter. (See the article on NC 12 closures.) The Mirlo Beach area just north of Rodanthe may have NC 12 relocated before it reopens. Again, from Pete East...Thank You to all who volunteered. |
