Greetings Anglers:
AMSA would like to invite you to participate in the 5th Annual AMSA

Annual Surf Fishing Tournament sponsored by the Assateague Mobile Sportsfishermen's Association Inc. The tournament will be held October 16th and 17th with registration and Captains meeting October 15th.

Pleasesee contact me for a list of the weekend's prizes and activitie and a 2009 entry form. Please return your entry form promptly; it must be returned to the committee by August 15th, 2009. We understand that some teams do not know all of the team members at this time; we will take the applications and payment A.S.A.P. without a full list of team members to assure your team a spot. Once we receive your information paid in full we will send out a confirmation letter to the captain. If you do not receive a confirmation letter by August 30, 2009, please email Bill Justice - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Please have the full team line up at the captains meeting. At that time someone at registration will complete the remaining items of your original entry form. This year we are restricted to a total of 32 teams. After August 15th there will be open invitations to anyone who wishes to compete. The team captain or a designated team member is to register the team at the Captains meeting between 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. on October 15th. At that time the sites will be chosen on a random basis for fishing spots for all three sessions of the tournament. The Captains meeting will be held promptly at 7:00 P.M. and the captain from each team is required to attend. Due to limitations set forth by the National Park Service (NPS) once again this year we are asking that teams limit their number of vehicles to two vehicles per team. If a team is found to be in violation of this rule their scores from that session will be not be counted and that session will be forfeited. We also ask that you remember that the beach will be open to all anglers even those not in the tournament and the committee will make sure that there is enough room in the fishing zones for everyone to be able to fish comfortably.

A final reminder about the National Park Service permit to use OSV: You will need a valid permit to fish this tournament. We are working to have a representative from the park service at the Captain's meeting once again
this year to have permits on hand to purchase. Please contact the NPS for their new fee schedule. If you purchased an OSV permit at last year's tournament you may still be valid until the end of October 2009.

The 2009 Surf Fishing Tournament Committee look forward to seeing your team in October. For further information on the tournament, please contact David Owens at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Sincerely,
AMSA Annual Surf Fishing Tournament
