Description
Dear Friends and Neighbors.
I am currently gearing up for another fund and awareness raising BBQ to be held at the Fesseden Center on Sunday, Sept 6th. Last year's event was highly successful in providing the public with the appropriate info about our beach access fight, along with raising a great deal of funds to help fight this ongoing battle.
The Outer Banks Preservation Association, Cape Hatteras Angler's Club and the North Carolina Beach Buggy Association are currently filing a law suit to protect this Island against "Critical Habitat" designation, which would further hurt beach access within the Park. The anticipated cost will be $150,000 or more. Awareness and fund raising is of the utmost importance to do our best in combating this never ending issue.
The success of last year's BBQ was only obtained by the community involvement of donations and volunteers. I am once again asking for volunteers and donations. I am trying to incorporate a 4wd parade in the morning and a DJ'd dance that evening into this year's event. I know everyone's time is tight and money is even tighter, but any way any of you can help is greatly appreciated.
We are in need of onsite volunteers, people to help prep food, people to make baked goods and so on. All monetary donations are greatly appreciated and are used to make for a bigger and better event.
There are more details to follow about the event itself in the coming days.
If anyone is interested in volunteering you can email me directly and I will be in touch in the future.-- This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
